Koosh Comet Tail Ball

Clip a tail longer than two feet onto a Koosh ball and you get the Comet. Grab the tail, swing it around like a lasso and let go — it streaks across the sky and drifts down slow enough to chase. We score it like this in our yard: catch it by the ball for three points, by the tail for one. The streamer makes it easy to spot in tall grass and on the beach, and kids as young as three can join the game.

How we play it: Mark a start line with a jump rope, take turns whipping the Comet as far as it will go, and let the thrower's partner race to catch it before it lands. Creating your own scoring is half the fun: we give a bonus point for a one-handed grab by the tail.
